Glass is a virtuous material that is aesthetically and infinitely recyclable, and has no interaction with its contents. The recognized qualities and potential continue to inspire our strategic choices and R&D. We are committed to go further in creating more environmentally friendly glass and reducing the environmental impact of our processes

 

Zhenhua has already signed a contract with a recycling company in Shanghai for the purchase of post-consumer recycled glass, and will launch 5% post-consumer recycled glass for verification in the next couple months. After the validation process is confirmed by domestic and international customers, we will also launch 5% post-consumer recycled glass at Gaoya glass (Suzhou). The overall validation process, and the process of achieving all customer confirmations, may take 6 to 12 months. Finally, in pursuit of a long-term commitment to climate action, Zhenhua has committed to increasing the percentage of post-consumer recycled glass to 10% by the end of 2023. Moreover, the use of PCR glass in our furnaces significantly reduces energy consumption and emissions. Compared to the raw material, the cullet is melted at a lower temperature. For example, production with 10% PCR glass can reduce carbon emissions by 5% compared to production with no PCR content.

 

Reduce

 

Reducing the weight of glass is one of the most effective ways to reduce the environmental footprint of our products. By changing the thickness of the walls and the distribution of the material to improve the weight capacity ratio of the glass, we can now offer up to 40% weight reduction for the same capacity for perfume customers. At the same time，We are also working on technical proposals to reduce weight by 5 percent per year for various cosmetic clients. 

 

In addition to glass, we want to reduce the impact of our finishing technology by guiding our customers towards more responsible design (water soluble lacquers, screen printing using organic or UV inks and eco-design)
